HEARING AID INSERTION DIFFICULTY. Hearing Aid Manufacturers have known about this serious quality-of-life problem for a long time: A 2022 survey by the Hearing Industries Association in Washington, D.C. revealed 40 percent of new Hearing Aid Users reported experiencing difficulty inserting their hearing aids.

Gruv Button™ Retrofit will end this “Hearing Aid Insertion Crisis.” We have received many inquiries about

Gruv Button™ Retrofit availability. It’s been readily available to the Hearing Aid Manufacturers for years – but they have failed to act.

This creates a logjam because, as the developer, we lack the manufacturing capability to produce the many sleeve-models that would be required to fit the entire industry’s wide variety of speaker designs, which come in numerous shapes, contours, and sizes. FURTHER, the Manufacturers already produce sleeves for their speakers for another purpose; they could easily modify those sleeves to incorporate Gruv Button’s “groove” technology.

HOWEVER, as the Hearing Aid Manufacturers’ largest customer in the United States, VA has the influence – and the duty – to break this persistent and unnecessary industry logjam. Simply stated: Since the industry won’t do it, and the product developer lacks the capability to do it, then our trusted VA has a responsibility to do it!

VA’s Audiology department could easily end the “Hearing Aid Insertion Crisis” by calling for the Manufacturers to modify their current sleeves to incorporate the “groove” provided by the Retrofit. Samples sent to VA

would permit the Department's Audiologists to further demonstrate the effectiveness and benefits of

Gruv Button™ Retrofit.

Once this happens, other large Hearing Aid Purchasing Organizations would enthusiastically call for its availability for their own members and insureds, ending the Crisis for millions more.

To paraphrase comments by VA Secretary Doug Collins, When we see a problem, let’s fix it!”

We have repurposed this “Comments” section as a vehicle for anyone wanting to send a message to our VA. Let YOUR VOICE be heard! And thank you, Secretary Collins, for your attention to this matter.
